Overview ~ Ages 5, 6, and 7

General Overview ~ Junior Soccer Program - Ages 5, 6, & 7

"Junior Soccer" is a program designed for 5, 6, and 7 year olds that introduces players to the game of soccer, while concentrating on developing basic skills. The director of the program is assisted by parent volunteer coaches and older youth soccer players. There is one coach for every 8-10 players. Players will be grouped by age and are co-ed.

Players are taught the basic soccer skills in an academy style format through drills and age appropriate games. The program meets twice a week (Tuesdays and Fridays) with skill building academy style training on Tuesday and small sided scrimmages on Fridays to implement and practice skills learned. The emphasis is on playing for fun so there is no score keeping during the scrimmages.

On-line registration and payment with credit card is available as well as "mail-in" registration. There will be in-person registration for the Junior Soccer Program at the first scheduled practice. Flyers announcing player registration dates, times, and locations are distributed to elementary schools in the Tumwater School District and online through the district flyer program.

How do I determine what age group my child would play in?
The 06 (or 07, etc.) designation identifies which age group your child belongs to for team formation, league play, or clinic participation. The goal is to have kids of similar ages playing together.

Does my child fit into this program? Check our Age Chart

In the Fall of each year, a new season begins and every child advances one age group (e.g., 06 advances to 07).
